Chez La Vie At The Nelson Inn - Selby

I took some friends out for lunch, and it was our first visit to the restaurant. The table we were given was excellent, and the service was perfect—attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere and the decor were harmonious, contributing to an overall fantastic meal. With such high standards of service, I will definitely be returning soon!

I had a lovely evening with friends. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly. It was also a great place for conversation, with no loud music to interrupt us.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The soup was poor; the crispy duck was overcooked and drowned in hoisin sauce, and the fish thermidor seemed pre-cooked and was tough to chew. The dishes lacked flavor, and the veal was overly salty. Even the dessert was dry and appeared to be leftover cafeteria food. Overall, the quality was barely above pub food standards. I won't be returning, and to make matters worse, no one bothered to check in and ask us how our meals were.

Work lunch for 4. really impressed by what they did with the place. eating was delicious service was good. only negatiw where we sat and the heavy sitting that made it a little tricky for all to be comfortable, but that was perhaps a quirk from where we were and only tables were certainly not all the same. would go again

We had tried several times to get a table at this restaurant now know why, it was well worth the wait. The service was impeccable, the food fabulous in fact apart from maybe being slightly high end price wise we could not fault it.
