Carnival Village

The parades moved at a painfully slow pace, which was quite frustrating. There are specific areas where performers take breaks to display their talents, which causes both parades to last for hours. I suggest bringing a portable chair along with an umbrella or a hat—ideally both—as it can get really hot. I ended up with a mild sunburn on my arms and almost got one on the back of my neck too. Also, keep in mind that many restaurants are closed during the Carnivale weekend.

Navigating Charlotte Amalie can be somewhat difficult, particularly after 8 PM. During our time at the Marriott Frenchman, we were fortunate to catch one of the few taxis available for our return trip. Overall, it was an amazing experience filled with delicious food, exploration, great photo opportunities, and the lively atmosphere of Carnival. What more could you ask for?

On a positive note, the chicken wings were among the best I've ever had. While it's enjoyable to try new dishes, we shouldn't forget about the classics. A piece of Johnnycake pairs perfectly with almost anything, and the pates filled with chicken, shellfish, and conch are always a reliable choice. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. With Carnival just wrapping up yesterday, I have to say goodbye to some of the best meals I've enjoyed in St. Thomas. While I’m sure I’ll find good chicken wings in other places, I will certainly miss that amazing flying fish.
