Cody's Original Roadhouse Sumter

Had dinner here while on vacation with my dad and stepmom (who live in The Villages); very cool restaurant! I loved the roadhouse style decor and ambiance, and the awesome lakeside views. The place was very crowded and busy (to be expected), but weasked for and were given an outdoor table. Live music...he was decent, but honestly I felt he played too many slow songs; butmaybe that was beyond his control. The 12oz prime rib was STELLAR! Cooked a perfect medium rare, with au jus and creamyhorseradish. We also really enjoyed the salad, and I loved my hot chips! Funny story...a couple leaving the restaurant werepassing by our table; the lady patted my back and said hi, then grabbed a chip I 'd been holding up, and said, Thank you, thisfor me? I said, Sure, enjoy it! We had a good laugh over that...gotta love a place with that kind of energy!

Come to Florida once a year and look forward to eating at Cody?s. This was not a pleasant experience. After being seated in the patio area we ordered our drinks and food at the same time. Two sodas and a water. Two of us were supposed to have the saladwith our meals. The waitress then went to the table right behind us and took their order before she put the orders in. No issuewith that. 20 mins pass? still no drinks. Stopped another waitress and asked her if we could get our drinks. Our originalwaitress brought them a few mins later. No mention of our salads. The couple behind us had their food brought to them beforethey even received their salad and the gentleman ended up sending his ribs back to the kitchen. Not sure why. Again stoppedanother waitress and inquired about our salad. After waiting 45min we were brought our rolls and salad. No explanation from ourwaitress or a sorry it took so long. 5 mins later here comes our food. I had ordered the sirloin medium, picture on menu showspink throughout. Steak was cooked well done. Didn?t send it back for fear it would take another 40 mins. I would have been moreunderstanding if we would have gotten a ?hey sorry it took so long? or ? we are short staffed?. But nothing. Waitress seemsannoyed more than anything ..Wont be back next year.

Great atmosphere! Although Cody?s was super busy on a Saturday night, we took advantage of their two for one drinks at the bar and before we knew it we were seated. I wish I could remember our waiter?s name. He made sure we were having a good time, hegot our party of 4 orders correct and made sure we he stayed on top of our needs. The food was delicious. 3 of us had steaksthey were cooked perfectly. My mom got the ribs, which was a huge portion, plenty for her to take home and serve as anothermeal. Definitely going back the next time we are in the Villages.

We had the Best waitresses. Started out with Amber. She was Awesome from the get go.. Then her partner came to help her because she was running around taking care of a party of thirty. They worked perfect together. The Food was on point. My husband hadthe prime rib and it was Delicious. He also loved his fried mushrooms as a appetizer. I had the scallops and they weredelicious as well. I will Def make the hour drive back to dine here again. Very clean, no complaints at All. Thank you to themanager for hiring the best Staff. ???? Thank you ladies for tending to our every need. ????

Came to the villages on a day trip and ate at Cody's. The food was good, the views better, and the staff excellent. I had the prime rib it was delicious, however, there was a big ol' hunk of fat that could have been cut off. The cake at the end of themeal was gigantic and rich. 9/10 will come again.
