The Blue Anchor - Tonbridge and Malling

We had heard that the food was very good. So with few pubs were open tonight so went walked the 100 yards down the lane. After we had ordered we were told it would be 30 minutes. After one and a quarter hours we got up, paid for our drinks and left. Another couple were waiting even longer. This was appalling. So disappointing. And yet this pub keeps going. Why?

This charming traditional pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and a spacious garden. The ale on tap (Timothy Taylor) is top-notch, and the comfort food is delicious. The staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. Don't let the road works deter you - it's worth making the extra effort to get here. I thoroughly enjoyed the King Prawn cocktail and the ham, egg, and chips were excellent. Despite living 45 miles away, I will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

Brilliant pub, proper local, with good choice of well-kept beer and great English fayre, all looked after by the brilliant Michelle and Hannah. Fab garden too with kids area. Well worth the few minutes drive from the M20 M26 Wrotham junction.

I hesitate to share how amazing this restaurant is for fear it will become too difficult to get a reservation. The food truly is homemade and incredibly delicious. I ordered the goats cheese and onion tart with marmalade, served with new potatoes and salad, and it was absolutely delightful. My husband ordered the chicken, brie, and cranberry pie and his smile from ear to ear spoke volumes. As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available, including gluten-free choices. The specials board showcased a wide range of dishes, expanding beyond what was advertised on the Facebook page. I highly recommend trying the crumble, which was delightfully light and flavorful with a unique combination of apple, pear, and strawberry. The staff at this pub are friendly and very helpful. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are quite reasonable.

I stopped by after work for drinks and food and enjoyed a delicious steak meal with a few pints. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. The landlady, Michelle, was also very welcoming. I will definitely be returning.
