Everyone got a different plate and no one left hungry. The big surprise was when I asked for a refill on my coffee. As an American I am used to the bottomless cup of coffee when I go out to breakfast. Well that didn't happen here. We were charged an additional $3.00 each (there were 2 of us that asked for a refill) for our second cup of coffee. Sort of took the glow out of an otherwise good experience.
My husband and I walked along St. Clair with our 2 granddaughters who we were babysitting for a few hours to have lunch with them. I had a delicious omelette, my husband had bacon and eggs and the girls had pancakes. Everyone was happy with their meal. Service was great. The children were treated with respect and as a result they behaved well and ate well. The children's menu was reasonable and both girls ordered from that and had plenty of food.
I had been to Boom in the past and was unimpressed with food. However my last visit was excellent. The service was perfect.I had the Adam Spanglish, which is essentially egg and bacon on rye. It was delicious. The fries were standard but they were freshly fried so that was a bonus. My husband ordered the eggs florentine and he also loved his meal.
Great breakfasts, always fresh, and quickly served. Atmosphere, ambience, and waiter is diner 100%. It was in the middle of winter and a bit cold inside. Also, a bit cramped. No extra space at all. Definitely no privacy. There are booths. But food good and especially convenient if you live nearby and want to eat out for breakfast. Not particularly convenient if you are a tourist visiting the city. Not close to anything - very local breakfast spot.
There speciality is breakfast! They never disappoint! Always an enjoyable experience! Nice and friendly staff!
