Restaurant Grec Baie-Jolie

When my partner and I were headed up to Québec City, he told me that we were going to have dinner at "Le grec" for pizza. In my mind, I thought he was talking about a typical "casse-croûte" or snack bar off the side of the road. Casse-croûtes are great, but they are everywhere. We finally arrived at Le grec and I was surprised to see all those cars parked in the parking lot. I thought there was a special event happening. As we walked in the restaurant, I realized that there was no special event at all: this was a regular event at this restaurant. We waited in line for a good fifteen minutes. My partner tells me that there are times when the line extends out the door. I believe him!The food (pizza) was excellent! The people I have talked with who have been to this restaurant tell me that it's the sauce that is good. I ordered the mini (9") pizza Dimaco which is topped with feta, black olives, tomatoes, onions, artichoke hearts, olive oil, and oregano--you can ask to switch the black olives for green olives which I did. It was delicious. I ate the whole thing! Check out their menu online to see the various pizzas that they offer.The service was friendly and efficient, considering all the patrons they have. The place is huge, but they offer amazing food!

I love traditional Greek food restaurants. And thankfully, this was one of them. We arrived for a reserved large group dinner at 4:45 pm on a Saturday and there already was a line up for the regular part of the restaurant. When this happens, you know the food will be great! And it was. Because this was a large group dinner, we had a modified menu with 4 main courses to choose from. The regular menu is likely much more comprehensive. Any one of the four choices would have been fine for me, but I chose the pork souvlaki platter with a chicken soup starter and a cake with a sugar cream icing (creme a la sucre). The waitresses were excellent and were dressed in a supposed traditional Greek dress which made the occasion even better I thought. The chicken soup was main course came on a large plate with one souvlaki kebab, with rice, half a roast potato and a huge mound of Greek salad. It was really really tasty. I do note that the souvlaki does have a bit of a different taste from the store bought souvlaki and also has a dark sauce on it. I liked the taste but you will notice a bit of a difference. Others had pizza which looked just fantastic which lots of cheese and this came with a salad as well. My wife, who has many food intolerances was accommodated by these folks with a poached fish, steamed vegetables, small salad and rice. It must be difficult to offer food with no slice in a Greek restaurant but they succeeded. We were served excellent coffee with desert. Oh and wine came with the meal. The price for all of this: $15.95. We left a large tip! The food was great, the service was also great which is hard to do with groups of 100 people or more being served. Waitresses were friendly and always smiling. The next time I am anywhere near Trois Rivieres, I'll be dropping in here. I highly recommend this restaurant. No wonder there were lines at 4:45 pm!

I have been going to this restaurant for more than 50 years. It was the best restaurant between Montreal and Quebec city, on the old 138 provincial road. The menu covers all kind of appetites, from the meat lovers to the pizza lovers and my personal favorite their salads, and for the life of me I can't reproduce their tomato and noodle soup. The pizza is their main attraction for sure. And what LOVE about the Grec is that you don't get bad surprises! Steady and yummy food all the time.You can even enjoy wine with your meal. Great place for a big crowd too. Service is top. Greek Costumes were their trademark for years, but modern times made them obsolete. Not the smiles. Great family place, girl friends lunch parties and for a slow Friday Night meal.

Rapid service and wine at good price. Waitresses are dress like greck ladies of old time, that bring lots of charm to the place

I had fun with my friends in this restaurant, even the waitress changed my meal for free because I didn't like my first choice. I would recommend this restaurant. Only problem is location it's not very convenient. Again good job!
