There was a diner on the corner that caught our eye, so we decided to stop in. It had a welcoming atmosphere where the locals were chatting happily. The owner, Dave, is an incredible Italian chef known for his fantastic spaghetti sauce, which is available in seven states. I ordered the Stromboli, while my husband opted for the Philly cheesesteak. Both dishes were outstanding and I highly recommend them. If you find yourself in the area, you won't regret stopping by this place for a meal!
Everything is made from scratch, and the chef really knows what he's doing—he's not just a cook. Make no mistake, this is a destination restaurant worth visiting. People from the surrounding areas should definitely make the trip to Bella's; you won't be disappointed. As of September 5, 2021, they only accept cash, so be sure to bring some when you visit. Personally, I hope they continue to operate as a cash-only establishment.
Bella's is a family-owned and operated establishment, which means your server and busboy are the owner's kids. Everyone is friendly and genuinely wants you to enjoy your meal. I refer to the cook, rather than a chef, because the food is truly authentic; you will never leave here feeling hungry! If you're from the Northeast, especially the Philly area, and you miss the taste of home-cooked meals, or if you're from the Midwest and want to experience real Northeastern and Italian cuisine, this is the place to be. From burgers to calzones, everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients daily. You'll even smell the tomato sauce simmering as soon as you walk in. And when it comes to those calzones, make sure to enjoy them with both hands—definitely not with a knife and fork!
