Hawg Dawg's Gourmet Dawgs

I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday, and I have to admit it was my last option. I was meeting a friend halfway and was not familiar with the area. After trying 3 different places, we ended up here for lunch because many other places in the area were closed or had a limited menu on Tuesdays. The front patio has a small seating area, and inside there is a good-sized bar and more table seating. We were greeted promptly and told to sit wherever we liked. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options on the menu; I had a hard time deciding what to order. When I saw that they offered chicken tortilla soup, which I always like to try, I had to order it as a starter. For my main course, I chose the western burger with chips, and I believe I made the right choice. The chips were crispy and salty, and the burger was very tasty. Although the waitress forgot about my drink for a while and we were not offered any refills, we still had a nice time. I noticed many people had fries, but they did not look appetizing. My friend had fries with her burger and said they were just okay. They also had a variety of hot dogs and burgers that I would like to try in the future. Additionally, the fact that they have a dog-friendly patio is a big bonus for me. I would definitely come back here, and in hindsight, I am glad that other places were closed because I may not have tried this place otherwise.

I've eaten here twice in a week. I am so impressed by the food here. I personally had the home wrecker and my friend had the girlie dawg. Both are very high quality meats. Great customer service. Definitely gonna be eating here again. Strongly recommend it.

Excellent menu options, reasonable prices, huge portions, excellent food, excellent customer service. Met a friend for lunch today at Hawg Dawgs. We both ordered the 1/2 lb Home Wrecker Dog. I selected the Girlie Dawg toppings: Crumbled hickory bacon, BBQ sauce, jalapeños bleu cheese crumbles. My friend chose Road King toppings: Road King toppings: crumbled Smokey bacon, sautéed onions, BBO sauce and grated cheddar cheese. We shared an order of garlic fries. We opted for fountain drinks and water. Excellent food!!! each received a pack of Oreos for dessert. Nice added touch. Kristi/Christie our server was awesome. She was friendly, polite, represented the brand well and offered a few suggestions. She checked on us throughout our long visit/lunch. Quick service. Reasonable prices, clean, lots of choices, TV for sports phonetics, a bar with various beers including craft and IPA beers, clean coed restroom. I enjoyed the food and would definitely go here again.

I am a firm believer in giving businesses a second chance, especially when new management takes over and strives to improve service and quality. Hawg Dawgs, a locally-owned restaurant in Valley Springs for about 30 years, has undergone a few ownership changes. The current owner is doing a fantastic job, providing great service and delicious food. I am thrilled to see this business return to its former glory with high-quality food, friendly staff, and excellent service. I will definitely be returning for more.

How can you not like a hot dog, and so many to choose from. My favorite is the Hawaiian dog with Mayo. Not something my cardiologist would approve of, but ... Nice menu of American fare. Another gem in-town.
