Johnny's Mexican Food - Ventura

I've been dining at this restaurant my entire life, ever since my mother and I lived in a nearby apartment. The enchilada sauce is incredible, and they offer it by the pint! The burritos and crunchy tacos are so delicious that you'll find yourself returning again and again. There’s a great reason they’ve been around for 70 years and still going strong!

Johnny's is simply the best! I've been going there since I was a little girl, and now I'm 47! The shredded beef and cheese are absolutely delicious!

Absolutely the best food ever! I've been dining there for years! My next choice will definitely be the Chili Relleno burrito.

All the reviews are legit! We are first timers, and we trusted our phones to find us a good lunch. Johnny’s did not disappoint! We tried crunchy tacos, corn burritos, and The Original burrito. It might be a hole in the wall, but it was a great find. We’ll be back when we visit again.

The first time I ate a burrito at Johnny's was the large all meat burrito and it cost me 25 cents. They're a bit higher now but the last time I was there I bought a cooler full to take home with me. Now I live farther away but I plan on visiting in the next couple of months and I'm bringing a bigger cooler and dry ice and going to call and order ahead of time so they can have a bunch ready for me to go. Last time I did this was maybe 10/15 years ago. It's a long drive but I have friends to visit and an errand to do. This will be one of the highlights of my visit. BTW, I've seen reviews that criticize the table area. Phaw! on those people. It's the food that matters! There weren't any tables or chairs when I was there the first 10 years or so. I remember Johnny and his wife as the only people working there and now their kid's kids are there or maybe Kid's kid's kids. It's been awhile.
