Beckett's - Whitby

Becketts serves a delightful vegan breakfast, and the staff are wonderful as well.

I've been visiting Whitby for years, but this year was the first time I noticed Beckett's. It has a wonderfully cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of a café mixed with a library. They offer a few clearly marked vegan soup options. Although I can't recall the exact name of the soup I ordered, I believe it was something like spicy coconut chickpea soup. It was delicious! Instead of bread, it comes with rice cakes, but make sure to ask for them. They also provide non-dairy milk, so you can enjoy a drink alongside your soup. This is an update from my previous review on November 28, 2022.

Becketts is my absolute favorite café in the world due to its welcoming atmosphere and delicious soups, cakes, and more. The owners and staff are wonderful, kind, and warm-hearted people who truly understand veganism and what it means. In that area of Whitby, there aren't many options for vegans, which makes Becketts even more special. It has been serving the community since January 2007.

GORGEOUS gourmet tasting food, I had the coconut soup which is divine! The cakes are homemade and also beautiful! Coffee is exceptional! I am Gluten Free as a coeliac and had no problems here at all. Lovely staff who couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Highly recommend Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch
