I highly recommend this place. If you’re unsure of a meal to get, definitely try the Madagaskar steak with mashed potatoes. I got mine medium rare and I paired it with iced tea. They provide metal straws instead of plastic straws, which shows they care about the environment. I had this meal yesterday and I’m not over it. It was the first meal where I enjoyed every single bite I had in a long time.

If you are in any way interested in beer, visit Das Bierfass. They have a wide selection of German beers from which you are surely to find a couple that will educate your palate, and at least one you would love. For a true beer lover, Das Bierfass is a rarity in a city full of bars and restaurants that insist you should drink nothing else but lousy malt liquor. They serve some German cuisine, which is not saying much, save for it will go very well with the beers. Sausages and other usual charcuterie. Ask for the beef soup (it does not seem to be in the menu), it truly tastes of beef, either from some kitchen science or plain good ingredients and cooking. Last I was there, I was offered the beef soup, but alas it was too late from saving me from getting totally wasted on the beers. The espresso needs work, but that gets a pass as coffee seems to be an afterthought for such a place. The owner and staff are friendly and the service is good.

I am so glad I found this place. Huge servings at affordable prices, and tasty as well. A TV to watch sports at the bar. And Happy Hour from 3-5pm! I can not give enough praise to this place. To top it off, the owner came by to check on how we were doing. If you're in BTC, you must check this place out. Especially during Happy Hour if you're in the mood for a good beer.
