We tried a basil vegetable stir fry with added tofu and a bean-and-mushroom stir fry with tofu, both of which were enjoyable. The vegetable dishes can be quite similar in flavor. The spiciness levels range from 1 to 5, with 3 providing a nice heat and 4 being very spicy. The server warned us about the spiciness levels, but there was a mix-up with our orders and my partner ended up with the spicier dish. Make sure to taste your order before diving in. The server was apologetic when we brought the mistake to her attention. The restaurant is located on Liberty Street in the Historic Wooster district.
The food is great not too many vegan options in the area this is one of the better ones. The ice cream is vegan. Coconut is the best flavor Updated from previous review on 2022-11-19
My daughter and I ordered takeout from this restaurant. Unfortunately, the menu did not specify which items were vegan or vegetarian, and the staff member taking our order was not knowledgeable about vegan options. Despite this, we carefully asked questions to ensure our food would be vegan. The dishes we tried, including Szechuan tofu, Moo Goo Gai Pan tofu, and a Sweet Potato roll with avocado instead of cream cheese, were fresh, tasty, and served promptly. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean, with proper COVID protocols in place. However, we found the portion sizes to be small for the price. Overall, while the food quality was good, the lack of vegan labeling on the menu, limited vegan knowledge, and relatively high prices make it difficult to give a rating higher than 3.
There aren't many vegan options available at this restaurant. I usually opt for their pad Thai with rolled tofu. It's the only place in town where you can get rolled tofu, which is a big positive. While Broken Rocks' pad Thai is fresher with better quality ingredients, the texture of the rolled tofu is worth trying occasionally.
We went here early in the evening. our waiter recommended the best dishes! we shared the spicy hergesons (the sauce is amazing) and the crisp rolls. for us.
