I got fried chicken crumbs that were great, the mother in law got speck pancakes and the youngs ate a warrior frit. the legal father is unpredictably hard to please and would not stop the buoyant. the coffees were also top coffee - will sit back in the garden this summer.
Came to Wayland 's for some brunch on Saturday, we were kindly greeted as we entered and managed to get a table outside in the back garden (the weather was lovely). The choice of food and drink on the menu is great, providing 'normal ' options as well as Vegetarian and Vegan. The hot chocolate was probably the best I 've ever had, so would definitely recommend and the coffe (from what I 'm told sorry I don 't like coffee), tasted brilliant! We had the pancakes and full english, the presentation of everything was lovely and it didnt disappoint on the taste, it was amazing! Staff were friendly and the sevice was good! It 's nice because it 's literally outside Foregate Street Train station, so we caught the train in to Worcester and stopped here! 100% recommend going! And we will be back soon!
I was extremely disappointed with my Christmas party meal at this restaurant. The presentation of the food was awful and unappetizing. The dishes looked like they belonged in a cheap motel, with paper ramekins being used in a supposed 4-star hotel. I felt like I could have been served better food at a fraction of the cost. I was truly disgusted by the experience and felt like it was a rip off. It was clear that even the staff were embarrassed by the quality of the food. The management should be ashamed of themselves for serving such subpar dishes. If this is the standard of food being served, why bother organizing Christmas parties at all?
Room for improvement. Pork was fatty but not crispy, kale was chewy, fish was fine but the vegetables that accompanied it were swimming in oil and as it was served in a bowl everything was all mixed together. What is it with serving things in bowls???!! On a plate it would have probably tasted much better as it wouldn’t have all jumbled together. Cheese and biscuits were fine as was the red wine. White wine on the other hand was too warm. Staff were friendly but not attentive as they seemed to have too many things to do despite there not being many people in the restaurant. If you are staying at the hotel and the rain is tipping down outside then the food is ok enough to see you through the evening but otherwise there are plenty of other places to eat.
The atmosphere in this less than hospitable establishment drains you as you enter, it 's like a sad trap! On the face of it the limited menu sounds nice and being limited should be really really easy to get right....nope, Faulty Towers meets the odd shaoed swedes out of Black Adder (to be fair at least they were funny). Second attempt at a starter was at least what I ordered...but was not a terrine, it was however average. The pork OMG so bad just a big lump of awful fat, Krispy wilted Kale is that a contradiction? And anyway woody steps tend to get in your teeth. For goodness sake this was so bad it really was like being in the sketches from Faulty Towers, just missing John Cleese goose stepping across the floor saying don 't mention the war . Actually really sad as the owner must be blissfully unaware of his or her investment returns dwindling on the vine.
