David's Bbq Catering - Gainesville

Some of the best spare ribs I've ever had. Not a lot of being here, just good food. Had spare ribs( 7 of them took 4 home) slaw and Brunswick stew. All of it done well. Discount for cash but they accept plastic money as well. Gainesville is a tough market being the home town of a National chain BBQ place, but David's making it happen.

I need to say thank you to Alicia and and the crew at David’s BBQ Catering. She was so helpful with suggestions and got us out of a tight spot when most catering companies were booked months in advance. The food was hot and yummy and the service was excellent and the price was budget conscious. Excellent. Thank you

EDIT 12/21/23: Last review was during covid and I 'm sure was tough on the company. I 've had David 's since and the pork sandwiches are pretty good, but I still would not waste money on their brisket. Sweet tea is always excellent and sauce is good. Original: Ordered a regular sandwich with garlic toast, decided to upgrade to brisket. Brisket on the menu is an up-charge of $1. A coworker picked up meal for me and was charged $3.20 for the brisket, triple(!! the advertised cost. Plus, what I got was three lousy, tasteless, dry, slices of beef on two slices of soggy garlic bread. Called and talked to the person who took the order, she agreed the price seems high but she doesn 't make the prices . Was told I could email the manager , I would rather leave a review. Last time we will order from here. in response. No I was charged $3+ just for the brisket, another $1 for the garlic bread, how can you expect people to know your prices changed if you haven’t updated your menu? Just because it’s difficult to get, doesn’t mean you can arbitrarily charge whatever you want for it and not even produce it well. Three small slices of overcooked flavorless beef on bread doesn’t constitute the $8 price tag.

Brisket was sliced too thin. Not tender. It was Dry. Must of been sitting next to something sweet because some bites had a sweet flavor. I didn't add any bbq sauce. I didn't like the sweet flavor. Greens were bland. Over all not impressed at all. Waste of 30 bux. Won't be returning

The OG BBQ joint in G'ville! Awesome BBQ and just-as-good breakfast (a pre-tailgate must). I can't count the times I ate here in ~30 years living in G'ville and I go (at least once) every time I return. Every. Time.
