Smitty's - Halifax

My wife and I have never regretted a visit to this Smitty's. This time I had their turkey dinner with stuffing and all the trimmings. It was generous, lots of quality meat, well presented and delicious. My wife had a tasty steak on a bun...with sweet potato fries (an upgrade) and a Caesar salad. Our waitress, Marissa, was very attentive. Unfortunately there were a few glitches with the meal and the ensuing bill, but all were well addressed to our satisfaction. Absent that the rating would have been a deserved five star.

First time I had been to this establishment for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. Good menu selection including a section for kids. Good came quickly and we had very healthy portions my wife and I could have shared! Service was very good as...well.

My wife and I went to this longtime restaurant chain and were warmly greeted at the entrance and then led to a booth of our choice.The pleasant and competent waitress took my wife's order of a large garden salad and mine of grilled haddock coated...with egg.My wife enjoyed her salad but I was disappointed with the haddock which was not fresh.The steamed vegetables and baked potato on my dish also didn't taste freshly prepared. My wife had a delicious slice of browned apple pie with her hot water and lemon slice.The coffe was excellent,the toilet clean and parking was in front of the restaurant. This is the second time I found Smitty's haddock filet did not taste fresh.

You know friendly, convenient, fast order taken, fast delivery of food, nice coffee, friendly server, good menu etc

I ordered liver and onions, my wife an omelet. How long can it take to do a simple order ? We waited in excess of for our order to arrive we just about walked out), thankfully the food was hot! Megan, our server,...was fantastic..........couldn't do enough for us. She seemed to be the only server with a sense of urgency in the restaurant.
