The Other Place By La Patrona

The food was good and the service was great but I just can’t give high marks as we spent the entirety of our visit swatting fruit flies away. It’s one thing if you see one or two, these things happen sometimes at restaurants, but we saw quite a few when we were eating and they were even in the bathrooms. I’d visit again because, like I said, the food was good and our server was top notch, and hopefully it will be a bit better next time.

We've been to La Patrona many times, but this was our first time at The Other Place. The food was fantastic, but the service managed to out perform the food! Fernanda was our server and she was absolutely fantastic! Friendly, attentive, helpful, and made great recommendations. We'll be back soon!

Fun little Mexican place with good service and good food. Nice place to take the family. Would definitely go again.

Although the food was tasty at The Other Place by La Patrona, I thought I was making a reservation for La Patrona. I like the food at La Patrona better as it is more authentic and The Other Place was more american food. I had someone who is vegetarian with us and at La Patrona there would have been more options, she ended up having a veggie pizza so that was very disappointing. The server was great and made the event more memorable. I would go here again and next time I use OpenTable I will be more aware of the place that I am booking even though when I searched I was on the La Patrona site.

I am really sorry to write this review because this place is so nice and the servers are so pleasant but I've come twice for barbacoa tacos and the tacos are decent but super greasy and they were out of queso fresco so I accepted mozzarella cheese thinking it would be sprinkled but instead it was Covered in mozza and it killed the whole vibe and flavor of the taco and made me feel quite sick. Honestly guys the service is good but I don't think I will be coming back here for tacos, there are alot of taco places in the city and there is alot of competition for Latin food (in Edmonton as well) so you really have to deliver. On a side note the Spanish rice is very good. The horchata is not bad. Wish I could give more stars but unfortunately they are not deserved.
